Can't an infertile girl catch a break????

We had our annual general meeting for our condo (we live in a condo townhouse) this evening. I have been president of the board of directors basically since moving in and it is the most thankless job I have ever had. We have one board member who is the most annoying human being EVER. I have spent the past two years managing her horrendous behaviour and I decided that this is my last year on the board.

I had promised myself that when I got knocked up that I would quit. I've been on the board since April 2005 and I think that I have to re-think that. My term is up at the end of this year and there is no way that I am going to volunteer to do it again. I hoped and hoped that I would have an excuse, ("No sorry, I can't be part of the board, I have a baby!"), but I need to take myself out of stressful situations.

I just wish that my term was up. NOW.

It also doesn't help that it's Peak +13 today and I'm certain that AF is on her way (she's come every other month, why stop now?). I'm tired, grumpy and definitely PMSing.

Am I ever in need of prayers right now.

Being done my report cards (well, I have to proofread, but that isn't a big deal) doesn't even lift my spirits.

  1. Is p+13 normal for you? Is it o.k. that I am hoping it's not normal and that this is a good thing that it is p+13...I am hoping for you!

    Prayers,
    Amber

  2. Gosh you have been through the wringer lately. I am hoping that all the unpleasantness/stressful drama of 2011 has been stuffed into January and the rest of the year is clear sailing.

It IS absolutely fine to be done with the condo board - you've contributed alot and it's someone else's turn. You have to take care of you also!

    Congrats on those report cards!

    Hugs :)

Nice work on the report cards. Sucks that you don't fee like celebrating.

  4. You're on a condo board, too? That is a thankless job. Cut that stress out where you can.

  7. You need a big HUG! annoying people..arrgh! yeah, probably time to move on from this stressful position...life is too short to be dealing with difficult people! especially when life is already stressful enough on many fronts.
Take care of yourself and create some alone and zen time. It seems like alot has happened for you lately and being surrounded by unsupportive people does not help.

Here is an idea, replace those evenings that you were sitting on the board of condos for like..going to tea shop or your favourite coffee shop and pick up a good read at the bookstore.

When DH and myself want to enjoy a quiet evening together we head over to starbucks/chapters and spend some quality time together.

There are times I prefer listening to my canary chirp then listening to annoying people talk.

Sorry about the PMS :(. Seeing AF coming doesn't make it any easier.

  10. I'm proud of you for quitting that position. I have learned that I sometimes do too much and need to learn how to say no more often.

I hate when you are sad. I'm so sorry. I just prayed for you deary.

  11. Aw! Too bad that getting the report cards done doesn't make you feel better. Maybe some chocolate??? There were so many things about my life that I planned to straighten out (work/life balance, place to live, pets, etc., etc.) when I had kids, because it would be so easy just to use the baby as an excuse for all the major changes that were otherwise too nuanced and too hard to explain. I guess one of the back-handed gifts of infertility is forcing us to learn what's really good for us and what we can and should really do with our lives. Good for you for knowing your limits!

  12. To answer the question in your title: No.

But you can catch prayers, and that's what I'm sending.
