Having One of Those IF Days

I've been sitting in my lab's waiting room for over 45 minutes and I'm getting pretty anxious. My school day doesn't start until 8:45am, and it looks like that I will be seen soon, but I really hate not having time to get my bearings before the kiddies arrive.

There's nothing like having bloodwork done before work! It's the horrible reminder that I'm not like everyone else. I hate being reminded that I'm barren.

I have no idea if I should be hopeful this cycle. Mr JB and I gave it the old college try, but we've been doing that for the past five years! It also doesn't help that Mr JB has a milestone birthday on Friday. I don't know why his turning 40 is so hard on me. How I would love to give him some great news....

It's finally my turn. Argh, gotta love the lab!!!

  1. bloodwork! i hear you! not the most pleasant thing to look forward too bright and early in the morning especially before work!

  2. Hard reminders as always, and I totally get why mr turning 40 is hard, I found my dhs brays to be harder then mine as I could see the disappointment in his eyes. Trying the old fashion way for 5 years is HARD and in my opinion, for me, would be harder then ivf, as you have no idea each month if an embryo was made etc....
Hang in there and hoping for good news.

  3. I know the feeling. I hate ANY reminder that I am dealing with this. I go to the hospital so much for blood work. It's a crazy hospital and difficult to get around. WITHOUT fail someone will ask me how to get to X or Y in the hospital and when I tell them, they say, "you must come here a lot." Yep. I have the whole place memorized and if you need to know the cafeteria special, I got your back there, too.

I'm going to be hopeful for you. I hate those milestones and how they weigh on you.

  4. Yep, milestones - ugh! My DH just had a birthday as well and we are inching close to that 40 mark as well and I get worried. But at the same time, I try to focus on a lot of the Saints that were old when they had children - the Bl. Louie and Zelie Martin(St. Therese's parents), or St. Gianna - I think Pietro was over 40 when their 1st was born. It may not help you, but I just thought I would throw it out there. I hope the day just goes up from here - and you are surrounded by lots of goodness and LOVE!

  7. Awe, I totally get you. I feel that horrible darkness when I have to go do bloodwork...especially when I know that it isn't to determine a pregnancy or not. UGH! My hub is right there with yours. Totally understood. But, just think of how blessed we are to have such wonderful husbands. I told mine just the other day that I would rather have to wait to have kids with him being my hub as oppose to having kids with a jerk! Good thought:)

  8. I despise any and all reminders of my infertility. And birthday milestones are included in that. It is just so hard, especially when you look around and see where everyone else is at your own age.

    Praying for you today!

  13. So sorry about the IF reminders in your life!
I cried everyday for months leading up to my 30th birthday! It was NOT where I wanted to be at 30. I totally thought I would have 5 kids by 30, but I had NONE!

I pray that you find out good things with your bloodwork and that you enjoy celebrating your husband's 40th birthday!
