Slogging Through

School is out in nine days.

Nine, very long days.

I don't know how I'm going to handle my crazy class, moving classrooms and the unbearable heat.

Yes, my school is not air conditioned. It's inhumane.

And yes, moving classrooms. I have no energy to do it, and it just sucks.

I'm going to curl up into a ball and sleep.

Btw, Mr. JB and I have decided to do PRIDE training in October. It's a BIG step in our adoption journey.

We're definitely leaning towards adopting through the Child.ren's A.id Soci.ety. We really can't afford international adoption at this point and after a thought-provoking e-mail from a local buddy (yes, that's you CS!) the decision just feels right. Hopefully one day we can find one of our children in Asia, but after all of the pondering and worrying this decision feels right.

  6. Tell me you have a fan! Lady it is crazy heat here right now, completely crazy and they expect kids to learn?

Hang in there, almost at the end and then you can collapse.

Btw beyond excited about the pride training, that's such great news, I totally think that you guys would be such strong candidates for adoption.

  7. You can do it!!!!! Nine days!! You will rock them out!!! Side note... I tried to channel my inner Jelly Belly today and do a yoga pose... it didn't work. If you need to laugh about something over the next nine days, think of me falling over during downward dog. :)

  10. We have done the PRIDE training....and it wasn't that bad. Are you doing the evening classes or the full day ones? We did 4, full-day Saturday classes for one whole month. Those days were terribly long, but we learned ALOT about adoption with Family and Children's Services and kids in care. I think though, that I learned more from the other participants in the class, and a few had already adopted and were adopting a second child.

    Try to enjoy... :)

  16. I just had that experience of getting through the last final days of school...I did have air though which helped. I also had to pack up the classroom which had all sorts of fun things to pack up or toss. But I did it and so will you!

Good luck on this next journey you are taking. My dh and I did the Prid.e classes last summer and we knew we just did not have the time right now to devote to a foster child.Maybe at a later time.
