And just a little bit more to be anxious about...

I wish I could say that my appointment with my Napro doctor made everything better.

My anxiety levels were already pretty high and one of the nurses called last week to say that Dr. T wanted to discuss some test results (I thought that it had to do with my cloudy urine, but it wasn't).

So aside from stellar hormones, great CM, a nice, long luteal phase, my FSH is high. The last time it was checked it was 15 and now it's 16. She seemed pretty concerned since EVERYTHING is going right.

I didn't have a problem with FSH before my surgeries in Omaha, so this new development has me so worried. She wants me to have my AMH checked (to see what my ovarian reserve is) and I have to take a couple of cycles off of Clo.mid.

I am trying to keep myself calm, but I just feel like this is just too much. It took all I could to not break down in my doctor's office.

So, I'm going to try acupuncture -- I am so lucky that Mr. JB's bf is a chiropractor that does acupunture! -- and I'm going to see Dr. Nora.

Dr. T said that she has had patients conceive with FSH as high as 20, it's rare, but it is possible.

I really don't know how much more I can take of this IF business. It is just too much.

p.s. Dr. T wants to reduce my T3 to 7.5mgs twice a day. I really hope it takes the edge off. She asked me if I wanted to take anti-anxiety medication, but I wasn't interested. I picked up some B.ach Resc.ue Re.medy, so hopefully it takes the edge off.

  1. Grr! This is really TOO much. I hope the acupuncture helps. Most of all, I pray that God will give you a huge helping of His peace.

  2. Ugghh. I'm so sorry. Can you remind me, have you ever taken low dose naltexrone? I found it helped me with some of the anxiety related to IF. If you already know about this, just disregard my useless comment ;-)

  3. Crap, I hate to hear that. Anti anti anxiety!
16 isn't that far off from 15 though, right? You're in my thoughts.

  5. I'm already on LDN and DHEA. I read that wheatgrass (which is gluten free!) helps as well. Gonna get some of that ASAP!

  6. I never knew a high FSH is bad...I 'll find out my numbers in few weeks.

I know some about anxiety..since I dealt with it a lot due to my stressful job...I applaud you for not taking a prescription for it. Sounds like you already know what to do. Praying it all works out!

  9. Rescue Remedy literally rescued me last summer. I heart the stuff.

Acupuncture for FSH, YES!!! I can't believe I forgot to mention that last night, it can work wonders!!

  10. I am anxious about your adrenals! Hopefully Dr Nora can sort you out - maybe even worth taking a test again? Also, acupuncture seems like a great idea, for both FSH and stress.
And your FSH levels don't matter for adoption. :) I think we'll be going to the Sept PRIDE training, but we want to check on the dates first.

  11. Oh no!!! I'm so sorry!
I really hope that this doctor can figure this out soon. I really hate that there's something else...praying that it's cleared up quickly and that any anxiety goes away.

    Praying, praying, praying!!

  13. Hi Jelly Belly,

I have also been going through quite a bit of anxiety. It's up and down. I notice at times I feel like I can't catch my breath. The heart racing in the mornings is terrible...I had that a couple of summers ago for three weeks straight along with hot flushes in my face, general fatigue. Sometimes we take too much on. It's not just the IF. It's all the other things we have to deal with in life too. Just a suggestion...maybe you should think about taking the summer to relax and not do any IF treatments. Just a small break to recoup your mental energy...just hit pause
    for a bit.
    A.K.A

  17. Fsh is such a tricky bit,I have heard than Amh is a much better indicator of ovarian reserve(and are you getting routine u/s during clomid to see how many follicles you have). Not sure about the clomid , but in my head many cycles in a row on clomid could cause you ovaries to start working harder(maybe?).

Check in randine Lewis's book and see what she recommends, there maybe some things you can do in addition to accupincture.

(no wonder you have anxiety, I'm sure all your hormones working overtime has go to throw you off).

Its hard to take a break from ttc, but a few months away from the constant monitoring makes sense.

It makes me frustrated and angry that your still waiting to become a mother, especially when I know you are made to be a mother, you will be fantastic parents. Just take a few months and talk, maybe there is a little person in Haiti who is your child....

  18. Could this just be caused by FSH? I would assume that raising FSH would be the first thing Clomid did. If you've not had high FSH levels before and your cycles haven't changed otherwise, I would assume it's the drugs.

I always wondered how high was "too high" - I knew that it was not good that my FSH was 9 or 10 when I was 24, but knowing that things get really rough around 20 is useful.

Anyway - suspend the worrying (ha!) until you test off the meds!!

  19. That was supposed to say, "Could this just be caused by Clomid?" That really didn't make any sense.

  20. JB, I hope things settle down for you, anxiety-wise, med-wise, and hormone-wise, asap! I love Dr T and all the MBFC docs, and hope things get sorted quickly! Please know that I will keep you in my prayers... and I hope you can keep in mind that we only have 2 more weeks left with the wee monkeys... then you can really slow down and BREATHE!! I plan to start my summer holidays with morning Rosary walks, a recommitment to eating well (no mire sugar / dairy / carbs), and more time in the sunshine!

  21. I'm so sorry that the "problem" keeps changing! You need a break from something else popping up and fighting that off with a stick.
Prayers are going up for you!
