I just realized...

...that I will be Peak +15 on my birthday on Saturday.

I was in my Restorative yoga class this evening and it hit me, and the thought totally took me out of my relaxed state.

I will either be enjoying the company of AF, or I will be losing my mind because I made it that far in my cycle.

Two things that are crazy-making in my infertile brain.

The last week in the 2WW is the pits.

On the upside: My local Napro doctor phoned me on Friday night at 7:40pm to tell me to raise my dose of T3. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful doctor. I am feeling an improvement on 15mcg twice a day. I've been feeling so alert and "with it" since I upped my dosage on Saturday morning. I was even able to finish my laundry (hand washing and all) last night when we got home from a dinner date with some friends. I'm still waiting for the warmth, but it's also been super cold up here, so I may be cold for another reason!

p.s. I've realized that I have a really bad attitude with regards to my crazy class. I need to figure out how to deal with these kids without losing my mind or resorting to copious amounts of alcohol. Advice anyone?

  1. Prayers for the latter "thing" to make you crazy!

With your class, whenever I felt like I was losing it, I'd totally change things up...rework our schedule, change the room around, and work in some fun early in the coming week. It seemed to give everyone a much needed "fresh" start mid year.

    1. I changed the seating plan a couple of times, but I think that a seating rearrangement is in order. I don't have a ton of space, so I have to be REALLY creative!

  2. Hmmm...I like the idea of copious amounts of alcohol for a coping mechanism...too bad I don't drink. But I do like the idea.

  3. Can you send some of your newfound energy my way? My new meds are making me more tired. Can't wait for this next surgery.

As for the cold, sorry, but the North is much colder my friend. ;)

Your class might be trying to 'test' you as well. With your absence, they might be seeing it as a re-beginning. Give it time, it will work itself out again. Enjoy the kiddies for me. I miss mine terribly.

  4. I love that you are loving your T3. Isn't it wonderful?!?!? As far as dealing with your class....I too like the idea of copious amounts of alcohol.....just kidding (I think).

  6. Praying for both being " that far" and your crazy class! I have a crazy class (sec grade) but thanks to God as a speciality teacher I only have them once a week;)

  7. I'm not a teacher, but I really like Rebecca's suggestion of rearranging your classroom to give it a fresh start kind of feeling for everyone, including you.

Praying that your cycle goes smoothly this time!

  8. Praying for peace on Saturday and for a great Birthday!
I like Rebecca's suggestion of rearranging the classroom / switching things up ... although I love to re-arrange things anyway. If that doesn't work, I guess go back to the alcohol. :-)

  9. Wait, you have a commenter further north than you??? I envy all of you your snow - just wanted you to know.

I would be tearing my hair out over that timing, too. Hope you have a wonderful birthday party and manage (impossibly) to forget all about AF.

    1. Yes, there are people that are much more north of me. We live in the southern part of Ontario which is good since being close to the lake makes our weather so much less crazy. I wish we had more snow, it's been more rain than anything.

  10. I have a crazy gr 4 class (but only half a day every day, it's French immersion). I have been praying to get me through :) You could also look at 1-2-3 Magic for Teachers (the book). My teaching partner and I are starting this technique with the VP's support (it is soooo helpful to have a good admin behind you).

I will say some prayers for you re: school, and of course for you to have good news on your bday!

  11. My husband has a crazy grade four class too, but they're not FI. I've learned that the kids really respond to games. I tell them if they're good that we'll play a game and it's worked. I tried "Free time Fridays" but they never earn enough points since they're so bad! The instant gratification of having a game or two before lunch or hometime is a good way to reinforce what little good behaviour they have.

Btw, what is up with these FI kids????

  12. Drug the kids.

    Just kidding. ;)

    Maybe.

PS, the 2ww is awful. I'm praying for a terrific bday for you! :)
