I'm still here

I know I've been AWOL.

Sorry.

It's report card season, and these pesky things are kicking my butt.

I have never been so behind. I'd like to blame it on the disastrous student teacher that I was plagued with.

But I won't.

But all of you know that I do.

I don't want this year to end. My class is fantastic -- we built 3D shapes this afternoon out of marshmallows, toothpicks and plasticine and they had so much fun. They were sad that we had to stop.

Really.

There's three weeks of school left and they're excited about 3D geometry.

I will probably never have a class like this again, at least not next year. I confiscated nail polish from two little girls in grade one last week and they tried to tell their teacher that it was fake. Ummm, no. I could smell it. It was definitely the real deal.

I am trying my hardest to be at peace at not doing the trigger shot on CD15. I see our Napro doctor on Friday.

I still haven't decided how much more treatment I can take. My heart still doesn't stay full stop.

Yet.

I know I won't ovulate without drugs. I am convinced that I didn't ovulate this past cycle, although I didn't have any ultrasounds to prove otherwise.

Have I mentioned that I can't handle ultrasounds. Honestly, take as much blood as you want, but please don't shove a wand anywhere near my ladyparts.

Non, merci.

Please say a prayer that I don't collapse in an exhausted heap. The end of the year is the worst -- I have no more energy and I have to make sure that the kiddies are happy, engaged and still learning even though I'm pretty much done most of my curriculum (except for math and social studies, there's going to be some serious cramming this week!).

Let's hope that my students still love me after I work them to the bone this week!

  1. Praying for your last days of school and your appt. on Friday! I hate ultrasounds and annual exams too. I don't mind giving blood or I will even take an IV before an internal ultrasound, yuck!

  2. The "fake" nail polish - that made me smile! I just have this great mental picture of you taking a whiff of it... :)

Sorry things are so crazy at the end of the year, I will be praying that you get everything done without stressing out.

Actually, I am praying for all your intentions...loved the added french this time around. Yeah, ultrasounds suck. Well, unless there is actually a live baby in there...if you get my drift.

  6. I know how you feel about giving up TTC and moving forward with adoption. There just came a moment for me when I just didn't want to get poked and prodded anymore and enough was enough. Maybe you will have that moment too!

  8. What a fun teacher you are with the marshmallows and toothpicks! You get extra crafty points for that one! Sounds like your class will def. still love you even after this crazy week :) I'll be praying for your appointment... I don't like u/s either, but I'd take one over an IV...ick! (Well, as long as the u/s is the ONLY thing they're doing!! )

  10. I struggled to get through the year too....kiddos were just kicking my butt too. They were done and so was I so it was interesting to say the least.

I know it's tough to make that final decision to be done. I thought we were done until I had surgery #3 and then we were back on the roller coaster again. Sigh. This is a time when you just have to believe the Good Lord is carrying you.

  12. Glad to hear you are still with us! Agreed on TV business - I am so over that. Never again (I dearly hope. Who am I kidding?). Now I am fascinated by that school rule - why is nail polish forbidden? I am, of course, automatically in favor of rules in general, but I'm finding it hard to think myself back to an age when nail polish would have been contraband. Do they tend to get it on things they're not supposed to??

    1. Nail polish isn't forbidden, but applying it in the school yard and lying about it is!

  13. I know it's difficult to generate in which sound decision to be carried out. I thought we had arrived carried out until I needed surgical treatment #3 and we all have been back again about the journey once again. Sigh. This can be a time once you simply have to feel the Good Head of the family will be transporting you.
